Welcome to Mrs. Merrick's fifth grade classroom page! It is great to be in my eighth year of teaching fifth grade at Lowell Elementary, and it is my 24th year of teaching in grades 4-6 with 23 of those years in the Boise School District.  I still enjoy learning new instructional techniques every year and implementing them in the classroom with my students.  Each class has its own individual personality, and it is rewarding to get to know my students and help them achieve their full potential.  Fifth grade will be a busy year for your child, and you will notice an increased level of individual responsibility for assignments and homework. This year at Lowell we are focusing on implementing Idaho Common Core standards in all subjects, integrating new technology, and character education.
