Dress Code

DRESS CODE

Lowell students are expected to present a neat, clean appearance and to wear clothing that does not detract from the educational process.

For All Clothing

  • Any clothing, jewelry or accessories advocating drugs, alcohol, gangs or sexual messages are not to be worn to school. See Board Policy 3223 regarding dress code.
  • Hats, hoods or bandanas may not be worn in the building. Adults, please model this action for our students.
  • Chains, metal studs, or other metal objects may not be worn.

Shirts

  • Bare midriff shirts (shirts that show the belly button) are not permissible.
  • No visible cleavage. Chest must be covered up.
  • Material covering shoulders must be at least 2 inches wide.
  • Shirts that advertise or promote alcohol or drugs or contain offensive words or pictures are also prohibited.

Pants

  • Pants must be worn at the waist line.
  • “Boxer shorts” and/or underwear will remain covered at all times.

Skirts/Shorts

  • Shorts may be worn to school during the months of August, September, October, April, May and June, for this year only.
  • No shorter than 3” (3 inches) above the knee.

Shoes

  • No shoes with wheels
  • Please have your child wear appropriate footwear for playing outside. Too many injuries come from wearing flip flops or strapless type sandals.
  • No flip-flops or heeled shoes in P.E.

Spirit Wear

  • Lowell’s school mascot is the Leopards.This year we will have spirit day every Friday with students being encouraged to wear our school colors of black and gold or Lowell t-shirts.These days are scheduled to encourage school spirit and pride.We want our students to love their school and enjoy coming each day.

Lost and Found

Be sure to mark jackets, back packs, lunch pails, hats and gloves with your child’s initials and grade level, so they can be returned if they are lost. Lost and found items are located in the basement outside the lunch room. Be sure to check there if your child is missing anything. Lost and Found is purged every semester and donated to Idaho Youth Ranch. Families and students will be notified a couple weeks in advance prior to items being donated.
